The Mecosta County Community Foundation, established in 1990, has grown to include over 40 different funds and assets of $3 million.
There are numerous designated funds that assist various organizations each year along with scholarship funds that make higher education more affordable for area students.
In addition, twice each year, from the foundation’s general fund and from the Mecosta County Youth Advisory Council (MCYAC) fund, grants are awarded for area projects.
From playground equipment to educational resources, music and the arts, the environment, sheriff posse equipment, museum needs, books to fight illiteracy, recycling program needs and much, much more, the foundation lives its mission to improve the quality of life for area citizens.
